Station Safety Protocols
Our primary mission is to provide a safe and secure environment. Please read these guides on online safety, physical safety, and community meetups.
Online & Account Safety
TL;DR: How to Stay Safe
Don't click links or run files sent to you over Discord unless you can verify the person sending them (voice chat is best). Never share personal information. Scams may come from a friend's hacked account, so be cautious. **ENABLE 2-FACTOR AUTHENTICATION (2FA)!**
Nitro Scams
The most common scam. These are easy to spot but many people fall for it because they often come from compromised friends' accounts. Look for misspellellings in the link (like "dlscord" instead of "discord"). Real Nitro links also have a button to claim them; you don't need to follow an external link.
Game Tester / File Scams
This is slower but more dangerous. Someone may ask you to test a "game" for them, sometimes for a reward. Once you run this file, not just your Discord but your *entire computer* is at risk.
New User Account Verification Scam
These exploit the QR login function. A "bot" may DM you a QR code and ask you to scan it to "verify yourself." Doing so grants the scammers full control over your account. ONLY use the QR function when you are logging into a new device yourself. Never scan a QR code sent to you.
IP Grabbers & Malicious Links
If you are sent a link to a domain you don't recognize, don't click it. A link can be used to obtain sensitive information, such as your IP address or browser cookies, which can be used against you.
Human Error & Social Engineering
The weakest point in any security system is the person using it. Often the easiest way to get information isn't to steal it but to trick you into giving it away. Never share uniquely identifiable information. They may seem trustworthy, but this can be used against you. Anonymity is safety online.
What Can I Do to Protect Myself?
Discord offers **2-Factor Authentication (2FA)**, which requires a second code (from your phone) to log in. This protects your account even if someone steals your password. You can (and should) enable it here:
How to Set Up Discord 2-Factor Authentication →
If you click a bad link or run a bad file, **immediately change your Discord password** (this invalidates stolen tokens) and the passwords for any other accounts that might be at risk.
Station Policy
If someone has attempted any of these scams on you, please send a message to **@Sir Thorn⚡🍆** so we can take action. To protect the community from malicious hacks, compromised members will be kicked, banned, and have their recent messages removed. You may rejoin by DMing Sir Thorn directly, but you will be required to enable 2FA first.
Dangerous Practices
Your physical safety is paramount. While e-stim is a fun hobby, certain practices carry significant risk.
Stimming Across the Chest
**DO NOT** place pads in a way that allows electrical current to pass through your chest (e.g., from one arm to the other, or from your chest to your back). This can interfere with your heart's natural rhythm and poses a risk of cardiac arrest. Keep pads on a single limb or below the waist.
Solo Breath Play
**DO NOT** engage in any form of breath play or asphyxiation while alone. There is no way to rescue yourself if you pass out, and it can easily lead to death. This activity should only ever be done with a trusted, trained partner present.
Real-Life Meetups
Our community channel is a great place to connect, but moving to an in-person meetup requires caution.
- Meet Publicly: Always have your first meeting in a public, well-lit place, like a coffee shop.
- Tell a Friend: Inform a trusted friend (who is not attending) of your plans: who you are meeting, where, and when you expect to be back.
- Verify First: A brief video call before meeting can help verify the person is who they say they are.
- Set Boundaries: Discuss expectations and consent *before* you meet. Don't feel pressured to do anything you're not 100% comfortable with.
- Trust Your Gut: If something feels off, it probably is. It is always okay to end the meeting and leave.
